CASTLES, GARDENS, AND PICNICS: A DOUBLE ARTISAN MARKET WEEKEND COMES TO KNARESBOROUGH AND HARROGATE

A spectacular weekend of outdoor shopping, local food, and the perfect family day out is coming to the grounds of Knaresborough Castle on Saturday, 4 July and Harrogate Valley Gardens on Sunday, 5 July, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to support regional independent businesses.

Organised by Little Bird Made, the artisan markets are the perfect full summer day out, to shop, eat and enjoy the historic ruins of Knaresborough Castle and the views of the River Nidd, and to take in the mineral springs and floral displays as you stroll through Harrogate Valley Gardens. A curated lineup of Yorkshire’s finest makers, creators, producers and artisans will be showcasing unique items including handcrafted jewellery, original art and photography, organic skincare and home fragrance, along with delicious fresh bakes and artisanal pies, preserves and locally produced cheeses.

Jackie Crozier, founder and Managing Director of Little Bird Made, said “We are thrilled to be bringing our curated artisan markets to two of North Yorkshire’s most iconic and beautiful outdoor spaces. Both Knaresborough Castle and Harrogate Valley Gardens offer the perfect backdrop for a summer’s day out. Our markets are about so much more than just shopping. They are a celebration of community and incredible local talent.”

She continues, “We want people to make a day of it, bring a picnic blanket, enjoy the historic grounds and stunning floral displays, and spend the weekend relaxing while supporting some of Yorkshire’s finest independent makers.”

Chris Molder, owner of 23rd Street said, “The thing we love the most about Knaresborough, if you can imagine anything beating the gorgeous views from the castle, is the people there. We are very lucky to be able to do so many wonderful markets, but Knaresborough has always felt very special. We always look forward to coming back!”

Dot Harrison, owner of Plantsdotcom said, “Harrogate Valley Gardens is a lovely setting to trade in, with beautiful surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere. The locals and visitors to Harrogate are very supportive of the artisan market, and we love returning here to trade each month. My dad was born in Harrogate and I have lots of happy memories of Valley Gardens from family visits to my Grandma’s house. We can’t wait to see you all on Sunday.”
