Ripon based artisan market company Little Bird Made, was created by Jackie Crozier who grew up in the town, before spreading her wings to follow a career in events further afield. Jackie has worked in the events industry for over 20 years and has experience in both large and small scale events. After her return home to Ripon in 2018, she saw a gap in the market and opportunity to use her knowledge and experience to support small businesses and provide opportunities for them to showcase their products and bring artisan markets to communities throughout Yorkshire.

Little Bird has come such a long way from the first market held in Ripon 5 years ago to the reputable artisan market company it is today. Jackie has worked tirelessly to build an impressive portfolio of markets across the Yorkshire area in some of the most beautiful locations that attract up to 15,000 visitors each week and to deliver larger scale events in partnership with Harewood House. For Jackie, the whole ethos of Little Bird Made is “shop small, shop Local”, putting traders, customers, and communities first and as the name Little Bird suggests to support aspiring artisans to take flight and build successful businesses that allow them to fulfil their dreams.

Each markets offers a diverse, high-quality shopping experience that celebrates the skills and creativity of local artisans. The whole Little Bird team is passionate about creating a vibrant and friendly atmosphere where customers can shop, eat, drink, and socialise with family, friends and not forgetting our favourite dogs.

The Yorkshire Choice Awards are an annual event that recognises all the heroes and heroines who make the communities of Yorkshire shine bright. They also aim to raise awareness of all the inspirational local people, charities and independent businesses who are nominated and give them the exposure many of them deserve while raising money for local charities.

Little Bird Made are honoured to be nominated in the Yorkshire Choice Awards for 2023, for the categories of Independent Business of the Year and managing director, Jackie Crozier in the Business Women of the Year category. The nominations are well deserved, and they are not just for the business or Jackie personally, but each vote is also a vote for all the traders who come along each week and make the markets the success they are and also for the regular visitors who support the markets and come out in all weathers to support us each week, these nominations are for all of you as well.

As well as being nominated in 2 categories, Little Bird Made is excited to be sponsoring the Charitable Business Award for 2023. Managing Director, Jackie Crozier said, “Little Bird Made is more than just an artisan market event company that provides opportunities for small independent businesses, and charities, we also take pride in supporting the towns and local communities we trade in. Our ethos has always been to shop locally and support all small businesses across the area. That includes a number of national and local charities. We wanted to give something back by sponsoring the Yorkshire Choice Charity Award in recognition of the amazing support that business give to charity throughout so many communities in Yorkshire. A huge part of  my background is in charitable work including Festival Director of Manchester Pride and raising significant sums for charity so the sponsorship is a perfect fit for us.”
