LITTLE BIRD’S THIRSK ARTISAN MARKET: WHERE LOCAL MAKERS AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS MEET
The heart of Thirsk is set to bloom as the popular Thirsk Artisan Market returns to the historic Market Place on Sunday, 15th March 2026. From 10am, visitors can shake off the winter chill and embrace the first signs of spring time with a curated showcase of the region’s finest independent makers, producers and artisans.
The artisan market is perfectly timed for Mother’s Day, offering a treasure trove of unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for the special women in your life. Visitors can browse stalls showcasing handcrafted jewellery, original artwork to brighten any living space, and stunningly scented hand-poured candles. For those looking ahead to warmer days, there will be garden accessories and furniture to give outdoor spaces a spring feel, alongside artisanal cheeses,small-batch spirits, and delicious handmade bakes to enjoy on the day or take home.
‘’There is a fantastic energy at our spring artisan markets,’’ says Jackie Crozier, Managing Director and founder of Little Bird Made Artisan Markets. ‘’The days are getting longer, the first daffodils of the season are starting to bloom in the surrounding Herriot Country, and there is areal sense of community. It is the perfect place to grab a barista style coffee, chat with the makers, hear the stories behind the products, and find a thoughtful, locally made gift for Mother’s Day.’’
Samantha Wood, owner of Taylor Jewellery, adds, ‘’Thirsk is a town full of friendly faces and a fantastic place to trade. We love the energy, welcoming new customers to the market while making time to catch up with regulars who visit the market and have supported us from the start. We can’t wait to return on Sunday.’’
In addition to the Sunday shopping, visitors to the artisan market can enjoy Thirsk’s traditional pubs and independent cafes and shops, making it a full day out for the whole family, dogs included.
