There are some events that I look forward to all year, and our Yorkshire Day market at Knaresborough Castle is definitely one of them.

On Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August, Little Bird Artisan Market will be returning to this incredible setting, and honestly, I can't wait.

Over the years, Knaresborough Castle has become one of my favourite venues. There's something magical about seeing our wonderful traders set up against such a historic backdrop, with visitors exploring the market, chatting with makers, and discovering unique products they won't find on the high street.

Yorkshire Day feels especially meaningful to me because it's a chance to celebrate everything I love about this county—its creativity, independent spirit, talented artisans, and strong sense of community. Little Bird Artisan Market has always been about championing small businesses, and Yorkshire Day is the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the very best makers our region has to offer.

What I enjoy most about these events isn't just the beautiful location or the fantastic shopping—it's the people. Seeing familiar faces return year after year, meeting new customers, and hearing the stories behind purchases made directly from the people who created them is what makes it all worthwhile.

As a small business owner myself, I know how important events like these are for independent makers. Every purchase, conversation, and recommendation helps support local creatives and keeps traditional skills and craftsmanship thriving.

So if you're planning a Yorkshire Day outing, I'd love for you to come and join us. Whether you're looking for a special gift, a treat for yourself, or simply a lovely day out in one of Yorkshire's most beautiful towns, there will be plenty to discover. And what an amazing town to have a wander and visit the sites.

For me, there's no better way to celebrate Yorkshire than surrounded by talented local makers, wonderful customers, and the stunning views from Knaresborough Castle.

I can't wait to see everyone there and make this year's Yorkshire Day celebration our best one yet.
