HANDCRAFTED AND HEARTFELT: HONOURING FEMALE MAKERS AT LITTLE BIRD’S WETHERBY ARTISAN MARKET
Following a successful start to the year, Little Bird Made returns to Wetherby Market Place this Sunday, 8 March. This month’s market brings together a curated selection of the region’s finest makers, artisans, and producers to the historic heart of the town.
In honour of International Women’s Day 2026, the market will highlight the global theme "Give To Gain." This year’s theme celebrates community reciprocity, the idea that when we give our support to women-led businesses and independent creators, we gain a more vibrant, diverse, and thriving local economy. The market offers the perfect opportunity to champion small Yorkshire businesses. Visitors can explore a selection of artisan goods, providing independent creators the platform to thrive while directly investing in the local community.
Surrounding the Town Hall, the stalls are specially curated to appeal to all ages, featuring a mix of original art, photography, bespoke clothing, and unique crafts. For the foodies, an array of beautifully crafted cakes, gourmet treats, and drink options will be available to enjoy on-site or take home for a Sunday feast.
Little Bird Markets founder and managing director, Jackie Crozier is dedicated to curating markets that foster small business growth and providing high-quality outdoor shopping experiences for communities across North Yorkshire. Jackie has this to say on returning to Wetherby, "We’re thrilled to be back in Wetherby. For us, it’s all about giving these talented stallholders a stage to showcase their craft. Every trader brings a unique spark to the market, making it a truly special experience. It’s such a rewarding way for the local community to support small business dreams with every purchase."
Amarah Anwer, owner of Sow Deep Biospheres says, ‘’I have been trading with Little Bird Markets for almost three years now, Wetherby Market being my absolute favourite. I love the cosy feel of the market, how it starts early and the truly amazing people of Wetherby, will always stop by to say hello, and of course my very loyal returning customers who keep an eye out for me and my terrariums! We can’t wait to be back this Sunday.’’
The Wetherby Artisan Market will take place on the second Sunday of every month throughout 2026, with the exception of November, when it will move to the third Sunday of the month.
