Wednesday Words: A Brilliant Start at Teesside Park

Last Friday was a really special day for Little Bird Made as we held one of our markets at Teesside Park for the first time – and what a fantastic start it was!

For us, a successful market is about so much more than footfall. It’s about our traders having a brilliant day, customers discovering new independent businesses and everyone involved feeling that the event has been worthwhile. On Friday, we saw all of that come together.

We’ve already heard from traders who had their best ever day trading, with several of our food traders completely selling out. We had traders travelling for two hours to be part of the market, and it was fantastic to hear that the journey was more than worth it for them.

That is exactly what we want Little Bird markets to be about – creating opportunities for small, independent businesses to reach new customers and helping them have genuinely successful trading days.

From a Little Bird perspective, it was also a huge success. Taking the market to a brand-new venue is always a leap of faith. There’s a lot of work behind the scenes in finding the right mix of traders, promoting the event, working through the logistics and, ultimately, hoping that everything comes together on the day.

And it did.

A huge thank you also has to go to the team at Teesside Park. They have been absolutely brilliant to work with from the very beginning. The support, enthusiasm and professionalism from everyone involved has made such a difference, and we’re really excited about what we can build together.

Friday felt like the beginning of a really positive relationship between Little Bird Made, Teesside Park, our traders and the wider community.

We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved with our first market there, and even more excited about where we can take it next.

To every trader who made the journey, every customer who came along and supported an independent business, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make Friday happen – thank you.
